Description

VCS1362 | Solar PV, China is a renewables (electricity) Verified Carbon Standard project providing access to electricity and its benefits.

Project Description: VCS1362 | Solar PV, China

This project has a total installed capacity of 50 MW which involves the operation of 50 sub-systems, each of about 1 MW.

The project supplies China’s North West Power Grid which has an emissions intensity of 0.8568 tCO2e/ MWh.

The annual average greenhouse gas emission reductions are over 64,000 tonnes.

The project uses over 200,000 solar PV modules with capacities ranging between 245 to 250 Wp.

Sustainability Beyond Carbon

There is more to offsets than just carbon.

Each VCS carbon credit is a tonne of verified climate benefit, no matter the type of project.

This carbon offset project provides multiple sustainability co-benefits beyond just carbon and helps link your climate response to improved sustainability.

The project promotes the application and diffusion of solar PV technology in China.

The generated electricity helps improve energy supply security.

It helps diversify the grid’s energy sources, currently dominated by conventional fuel based generation.

Generating renewable electricity, it reduces GHG emissions as well as SOx, NOx and particulates from fossil fuel power station.
