25 MW solar PV project produces over 36 GWh annually

It supplies the Indian Grid which has an emissions intensity of 0.9368 tCO2e/MWh

The project’s panels are made by Canadian Solar, with a peak power of 235-240 Wpeak

Sustainability Beyond Carbon

It helps address the electricity demand/ supply gap existing in Gujarat, improving the grid’s reliability and electricity quality.  This helps economic activity in the area

It improves energy and resource security by reducing India’s reliance on foreign sourced fuels and local fossil fuels

Employment opportunities have been generated during its construction and operation helping improve local economic conditions

The project promotes solar PV power, brings additional investment to the region and contributes towards infrastructure development like roads

Being renewable electricity, it reduces GHG emissions as well as SOx, NOx and particulates emitted by conventional thermal power generation

Its success promotes solar PV power uptake, encouraging the development of similar projects
